Here are the basic stats for my standard 1999 S1:
- Dates: 16 January 2001 to 18 July 2003
- Entries: 160
- Kilometers driven: 50636km
- Total gas used: 4,112 liters
- Total paid: 4,254 Euros
- Average fill-up amount: 25.7 liters
- Average fill-up cost: 26.6 Euros
- Average fuel efficiency: 8.1liters/100km = 29 mpg US = 35 mpg UK
- Average gas price: 1.03 Euros
And some notes:
- Although much of this was in the DM days, I've converted to Euros for the early period.
- There was a little gas in the car when I got it and 21km on the clock, but that's not going to make much of a difference.
- Much of my driving is highway at 140-180 km/hr, plus I like to have fun in the city, so I think 29 actual miles per gallon is damn good!
- It's interesting that the price of gas seems to have dropped a bit when you take into account the yearly tax hikes in Germany.
